Zoned Rounding is used to move your employee's clocking records forwards and backwards, across specific time periods. These rules are set up within the shift.
(These rules are distinct and separate to Point Rounding, and explanation of which can be found here.)
Let's look at the rules below:
17:00 - 17:30 Back
This rule is telling the system to move any clocking record, processed between 17:00 and 17:30, back to 17:00.
08:30 - 09:00 Forward
This rule is telling the system to move any clocking record processed between 08:30 and 09:00 forward to 09:00.
Example:
Employee A has a start time of 09:00
Employee A has turned up and clocked in at 08:40.
Employee A is only to be Paid for the time that he is contracted to work and is early.
The Zoned Rounding rule, set up against Employee A's shift, will move the Clocking Record FORWARD to 09:00.
Note: This adjustment to the record, only affects the Employee's Working Record and is useful for Payroll Reporting and more. The REAL clocking record of the employee will still be recorded and used to determine if the employee is on/offsite for Fire Reporting and and more.
