This feature is centrally controllable and customizable. You can simply create an absence type like ‘Work Trip’ and set it to be ‘allow request’.
Employees will then see in the Calendar booking screen a new drop down with the various Absence types available to select.
Once requested, authorisation from the defined manager is needed and a full email thread is processed to employee.
First, you would need to allow requests for absence in settings, the steps are as follows:
- Go into settings in the top right cog of the page
- Once you’re in settings click on ‘Holidays, sick and Absence’ then Absence
- Double click on the absence type that you wish to allow requests
- An ‘Edit Absence’ tab will then display.
- Tick the ‘Allows requests’ and hit Save.
- This should now then allow employees to request this absence type in self-service when they want to.
