When using Flexitime, you can create a 'Flexi Leave' holiday type which will allow employees to use their flexitime balance to request time off.
To create a Flexi Holiday you'd need to create a new 'Holiday Type':
- Go into settings via the top right cog
- Once in settings, navigate to 'Holiday, Sick and Absence' -> Holidays
- Click on the green + button to create a new holiday type
When selecting the green + a 'Create Holiday' interface should appear:
- Name the holiday as 'Flexi Leave' (Or whatever you would prefer this to be named)
- Tick Paid if you want this to be paid leave
- Tick 'Counts towards flexitime'
- Doing so will mean that the system will do the calculations for you, there will be no need for manual adjustments to their entitlements.
- This will mean that the 'Flexi Leave' when booked, will come directly from the employees flexitime balance.
- For more information on setting up flexi-time, please use this link: Setting up Flexi Time – Chronicle Computing
- Click 'Create'.
- Once created go back into the Flexi Leave holiday you have just created, which you should now be able to select flexi leave holiday type for 'Entitlement counts towards holiday type'
- Entitlement counts towards holiday type - simply means that whenever an employee takes flexi leave this would be where the entitlement would be taken away from. e.g. if you set this to count as holiday, this would then be taken out of their holiday entitlements.
- Once created, you should now be able to see this holiday type appear under their employee record and entitlements as shown below.
