Mobile Sim Terminals - Employee Download

Mobile SIM Terminals use a GPRS device like a mobile phone sim card to connect the terminal and ultimately transfer live clockings to the software.

This makes a mifare or proximity clocking terminal effectively portable.

When using Mobile Sims Chronicle sets the 'heartbeat' frequency to every 2 hrs. This is due to data usage and limiting unnecessary costs.

When downloading new employees or fingerprint templates to a device it is normal for the device to show a blank heartbeat reference on the Terminal and Terminal Set Up screens. The heartbeat will kick back in on the 1hr or 2 hr mark depending on settings.

Note when updating new employees to the terminal it is key to:

• Use a 5 digit badge id that is unique and not duplicated on any other employee. i.e 00544 or 00004.
• Make sure to define a terminal group the employee belongs to - without this the unit/s will not know the person exists. This is essential even if there is only one unit in operation
• Assign a roster to the employee (even if open roster)
