Tags are used to separate groups of Employees into companies, departments or other categories that fit the requirements of your business. For example, you may have a separate tag for agency staff as well as full time employees.
To view the tags that are set-up on your system, you'd first access the settings via the cog in the top-right corner.
Then navigate to 'Organisation' then 'Tags'
Your environment will always start with an 'ALL' tag.
You can find more information about creating new tags here: How to create a tag. – Chronicle Computing
Assigning the tag(s) to an employee
Once your tags have been created, you'd need to assign them to the appropriate employee(s). This can be done on an individual basis via the employee record which can be accessed within the settings within 'Employees' then 'Employees' or by double-clicking on an employee's name within 'Live Data' or 'Attendance'.
Once you're on the employee record, navigate to the 'Tags' tab. Here you'll see a list of all the tags within your environment. Tick each tag that applies and click 'Save'.
If you have multiple employees to be assigned to a tag, this can be done via the 'Bulk Editor' found within the 'Toolbox' drop-down along the top.
Within the bulk editor, it would be best to select the tag filter to 'All' (found on the left-hand side) as all employees should then be displayed within the table.
Select all the employees that you are assigning to the tag within the table and locate the 'Tag' drop-down found below the table (near the bottom of the page on the left-side).
Select the appropriate tag and then 'Update' to assign all employees that was ticked to the selected tag.
