Chronicle Mobile App gives the employee the ability to clock in/out, manage their attendance, report incidents, request holidays, and receive announcements and payslips from an employer.

Home Screen
The default screen that everyone will see when first logging into the Chronicle Employee App will present them with various actions. From this screen, they'll be able to:
- Clock IN/OUT
- Start/End Break
- Change Cost Centre/Activity (This is done using the orange + at the bottom of the screen)
- Send a note
- Book a holiday
Tablet Mode Home Screen
Along with using the Chronicle Employee App on a personal device, this can also be used in 'Supervisor Mode'. This is usually set-up on a tablet, stationed in a reception area or where the employees would begin their work day. This allows the employee to search for their name, select it and process actions such as clocking in and out, starting and ending breaks etc.
Sending a Note
On the Chronicle Employee App, the 'Send a Note' feature allows the employee to send a note which will appear against their work record, this could be used in instances where the employee has clocked in late or out early.
E-mail notifications can also be set-up so that an appropriate person is made aware of the note that has been sent, this can be set-up with e-mail configurations.
To view the notes as a manager, you'd do so within Chronicle by:
- Accessing 'View' > 'Live Data'.
- Locating the employee of interest.
- Double-clicking on the day the note was sent. This opens the work record.
- The note will appear in the top-left of the work record, under their name and the date.
Timesheet
In this menu, the employee will be able to see their weekly timesheet. They will be able to navigate to previous and upcoming weeks. They'll be able to see the shifts that have been rostered/scheduled and how many hours that have been worked on an individual day.
From this menu, the employee will also be able to view the work record for a select date to see any notes against that record as well as seeing the hours displayed on the work record.
They can also book a holiday for that date using this screen.
An employee can also set their availability for a date which appears within Chronicle as a thumbs up on the 'View' > 'Attendance' screen.
Incidents
The incident screen can be used to document something that has happened within the workplace, or outside of the workplace if travelling which hasn't caused any personal injury, but may or may not have caused damage that warrants reporting.
This will allow an employee to report the date/time, location, description and images of the incident which then gets sent through to Chronicle.
Any incidents that have been reports can be found within Chronicle under the 'Manage' > 'Incidents'.
Holidays
The 'Holiday/Absence' menu is split into 3 sections - 'Entitlements', 'Request' & 'Status'.
In the 'Entitlements' page, the employee can view how many holiday, sick and absences they have taken and have remaining.
In the 'Request' page, the employee can look to put through a request for a specific holiday type, duration and date range.
In the 'Status' page, the employee will be able to see their requests and the current status. A push notification can be provided with permissions enabled that will update the employee on their request - whether this has been authorised or declined.
They can also delete and requests here which may have been done by mistake or no longer required.
Announcements
The 'Announcement' page is where the employee can find any company announcements that have been sent via Chronicle. This can be used to provide updates to employees regarding any changes, important information or safety.
An announcement can be sent via Chronicle via the 'HR' drop-down and then the 'Announcements' option. Here you can select the employees you wish to send the announcement to, write the announcement and even send a document with it if needed.
With notification permissions enabled, the employee will also receive a push notification when the announcement has been sent.
Upload
The 'Upload' are within the Chronicle Employee App can allow an employee to upload documents from their personal device, to their employee record. These documents can be:
- Sick Notes
- Certificates
- Licences
- Skills
- Other
Payslip
In this menu, the employee will be able to see any payslips that have been generated when using Chronicle Payroll.

Settings
In this menu, the employee will have the option to allow them to change their password as well as region if required.
