Activities in Chronicle can be used in various ways - Their purpose is to assist in recording time spent working as a specific role, doing a specific job or working in a specific area/off-site.
Employees have the ability to change activity at the beginning, end or throughout the day via their main clocking device - Terminal, Self Service or Chronicle Mobile App.
Creating Activities
For there to be activities for the employees to clock onto, they would need to be created within your environment first. To do so, access the settings via the option on the home screen menu and then 'Organisation' on the settings menu. Finally, select 'Activities'.
To create an activity, select 'Add Activities'
Name - This is the name of the activity.
Code - This would be a numbered reference for that activity and is not required.
Hourly Rate - This allows you to apply a specific hourly rate to this activity (This is required to be set in the employee record).
Terminal Code - This is for if the employees are changing their activity on a Maximus terminal, as they will be required to enter a number.
Job and Finish - This, once set-up will mean that regardless of whether the full amount of hours were worked against the shift, it will set the 'End Time' to that of the shift that was worked.
Offsite - This will mean that if the employee works on this activity, it will show them as off-site (Not on the fire reports).
Does not count towards overtime - This will mean that any hours worked on this activity will not count towards any overtime rules in place.
Counts towards WTD - This will mean that hours worked on this activity will count towards the working time directive.
Once the information has been defined against the activity, click 'Save'.
Employees can be set a default activity that means when they begin their shift, they will automatically be assigned to that activity - This is set against their employee record under the 'Details' page.

Reporting on Activities
If you'd be looking at locating how many hours may have been worked on a specific activity, there are multiple reports that can be used for this - Most commonly the 'Activity Report'.
