Activities are basically role types in the Chronicle such as 'Supervisor'. It can also be used as a job, for example 'Driving'.
They are a great way to track what people are doing and where your hours are being spent.
People can have a default activity so that when they clock in and out all hours populate this activity rate.
However, employees can for a morning or afternoon or whole day temporarily change activity on one of our many clocking devices. Such as Clocking Terminals, Smart Phone or Desktop applications.
You'd assign a default activity within the employee's work record.
The above shows the employee's default activity is working as Supervisor.
There are various additions you can assign against an activity:
- Hourly Rate
- Job and Finish (See: Job and Finish - Job and Knock Logic – Chronicle Computing)
- Does not count towards overtime
Activities can be good for tracking how many hours was worked on a specific job or area - One useful report to track this would be the 'Activity Report' report found under 'Reports'.
