Instead of daily overtime, you can set-up a weekly overtime rule. This can be useful for when overtime is needing to be raised after a certain amount of hours.
To begin, you'd need to access the settings via the cog in the top-right corner. Then, select 'Overtime Rules' then 'Overtime Rules'.
To create a new rule, select the green + button or, to amend an existing rule, double-click on the appropriate rule to access the settings.
When creating a new rule, you'll see a variety of options:
Name - This would be the name of the overtime rule, such as '40+ Hours'.
Overtime type - You'll have the options of either 'weekly', 'monthly' or 'custom'.
Start of week - This will be the day of the week where the overtime will start raising from.
Basic hours - This is where you can define the rate of the 'Basic hours' (If this is not required, it can be left blank).
Overtime starts after contracted - You'd enable this if overtime is due to be raised after the contracted hours for that week/month (This is calculated via the 'Contracted Hours' of the shift(s) within the roster).
Overtime paid after - This is where you can define the amount of hours that needs to be worked before overtime is raised, if not after contracted hours.
Duration - This is how much overtime can be raised in total once the requirements have been met.
Overtime rule - This would be the 'rate' in which the overtime is raised as.
Authorised - With this enabled, the 'Basic hours' or overtime that is raised will come through automatically authorised rather than pending.
With 'Custom' selected, the interface will change slightly:
Similar settings do apply such as the 'Overtime starts after contracted/paid after' however with a custom rule, it will allow you to define a specific overtime rule to each day of the week.
It would also allow you to define this rule as a 'Fortnightly' overtime rule, selected within the 'Custom type'.
Once the overtime rule is created, it would need to be applied to a roster. To do this, navigate to 'Shifts & Rosters' on the left-hand side, then, 'Rosters'.
Double-click on the appropriate roster that the overtime rule will need to apply to and select 'Overtime' and define the rule within the drop-down.
Now that the rule has been applied to the roster, this will apply to any employee that is assigned to that roster. Providing they meet the requirements for the overtime rule, it'll raise on the day before whatever was defined as the 'Start of week'.
For example, if Monday is defined, any overtime raised based of the rule will raise on Sunday.
Weekly and daily overtime can be used in conjunction with each other - More information about this can be found here: Weekly/Daily Overtime Combination – Chronicle Computing
