Preparing for the end of the Holiday Year:
- Go to Reports -> Reports -> run a Holiday Entitlement report for all employees at the end of the year and Export to a CSV file:
- Remove all Carried Over fields a few days before the new year if you don't want these to carry over into the next year:
- Cross reference the saved report from the last year to the Holiday Entitlement report ran at the start of the new holiday year to see if there are any issues:
- Book Bank Holidays for the next year (for more information, please see the article: Book Holidays in Bulk - Bank Holiday and Shutdowns, Sick or Absence – Chronicle Computing (zendesk.com)):
When the new Holiday Year starts:
- Entitlement field will stay the same
- Any not-taken holiday (Remaining field) will be added to the Carried Over field
- Remaining is a calculated field (Entitlement + Carried Over - Taken)
- Taken is calculated based on next year's holidays
