In some cases, you may have your GT8 terminals but decide you would like it to perform differently after receiving it. This would require updating the buttons file on the unit itself, along with any other units individually.
To action this, you will require:
- Empty USB stick (Formatted to FAT32)
- .xml Buttons File (Zipped)
Setting up the USB
Before accessing the terminal, you'll need to put the provided .xml file onto a USB.
On the (preferably empty) USB, create a folder called 'GT-Install'.
Enter that folder and drag the buttons.zip that has been sent from us into that folder.
Right click on the buttons.zip and select 'Extract All'.
On the interface that appears, select 'Extract'.
You'll then have 2 folders in that location.
Inside 'Buttons' will be the extracted buttons.xml file.
With those steps completed, safely remove the USB from your device and plug this into the GT8 terminal.
Applying the Buttons File
With the USB plugged into the back of the terminal, you'll now need to follow these steps to apply this new buttons file.
Incorrectly scan your face at the terminal and press 'ID' or, press your thumb over the time in the top-left for 5-6 seconds.
Enter '19051905'.
Select 'Exit Application'.
Select 'Admin'
Enter '1905' and select the green tick.
Select 'Setup GTEasyClock' application.
Select 'Advanced'.
Select 'Import'.
Select the 3 lines in the top-left.
Select your USB device on the left-hand side.
Select the 'GT-Install' folder in the middle, then the 'Buttons' folder, you should then see the 'Buttons.xml' file.
- Selecting the 'Buttons.xml' file should result in the 'File Imported Successfully' message as seen above.
- Press anywhere to close that message, then select the back-arrow key and then the 'Save' option.
- Press the circle icon in the bottom middle to return to the facial recognition screen.
- The clocking process should now be changed to that of the buttons file that was sent!
