Longitudes, Latitudes and Ringfencing
This is a feature to assign longitude and latitude to cost centres. This will designate a location on the map for your cost centre. Then this will be used to allow ring fencing which will raise an exception when you clock outside the ring fence set.
How to find the longitude and latitudes of your location
- Go to your search engine and search up google maps
- Search up your desired location
- Right-click on your desired location
- A pop-up window should show the longitude and latitude of your location (please note that longitude is the first number and latitude is the last)
Below is an example of how to find a certain location
Longitude and latitudes in settings
- Go into settings
- Go into cost centres
- Double click on your desired cost centre
- You should find the setting to adjust longitude and latitude in the pop-up menu
- Once you have entered your desired location click save
Congratulations you have now setup a cost centre with latitude and longitude.
Ringfencing is a tool that we use to create a circular zone around a cost centre, which can be used to monitor the clocking-in location of employees. This can be used to make sure they are not clocking in too far from their place of work. A ring fence can also be used to automate which cost centre you are on if you clocked inside the Ringfence.
