Within Chronicle, you can now assign a rate to a specific employee when working a specified shift. For example, if a single or few employees work a night shift which pays extra for some but not others - You can set it up so that these employees only receive the higher rate.
*Please note: The system will first check the rate against the Employee Shift Rate, if there is none set-up - It'll check on the 'Hourly Rate' against the shift. Finally, if neither are set-up it'll input the 'Hourly Rate' from the employee record*
In order to have this set-up against an employee, we'd first need to set the 'Pay Rate' against the employee. You'd do this within their employee record.
To begin, access the settings via the cog in the top-right corner then navigate to 'Employees' then 'Employees' and search for the relevant employee and double-click on their name to access their employee record.
Within the employee record, navigate to 'Payroll' and change the 'Pay Type' to 'Shift'. After this, click 'Save'.
From there, we'd need to create the employee shift rate. This is done by navigating to 'Employees' then 'Employee Shift Rate'.
Click the green '+' to add an employee shift rate. You'll then see a screen like the below image:
- Shift - Here you'll select the shift that you want the rate to fall against.
- Employee - This is where you'd select the employee you want the rate to apply to.
- Rate - This would be the rate that would apply to the employee & shift (For example 1.50). This is the hourly rate that will be applied when this shift is worked.
Once this has been filled out appropriately, click 'Create'.
The above can also be done within the 'Shifts & Rosters' with a new table as seen below:
When the employee that has been assigned works the shift that has been assigned the work record will display like the below:
(In this example, I had used a rate of '1.50' which pulls through an hourly rate of £1.50 for 'William' on the 09:00-17:00 shift)
