The Live screen shows real-time information on employees, their activity and cost centre plus their timesheet. This will be a screen that will be commonly used whilst managing your employees in Chronicle.
This article will give you an overview of the Time sheets, going through all of what is achievable on this screen.
Filters
At the top of the page there will be some filters - This is how you'll be able to filter down the list of employees so that it is more manageable.
Tag
- This is where you'll be able to filter the list of employees displayed in the centre of the screen into a specific tag. This will allow you to easily see a specific department, team or organisation within your business.
Date
- This will allow you to select the date range of the data that is displayed below the list of employees. It'll show you the beginning of the week based on the date that was chosen. It will always display the current week when loading into this screen.
Status
This will always be set to 'All Employees' upon loading into this screen. This is where you can further filter the displayed employees. The available options are:
- All Statuses (Shows all active employees for the tag you've selected)
- Left Employees (Shows all the inactive employees within your environment - Employees that have a leaving date set)
- Clocked IN (Shows all employees that are currently clocked in for the tag you've selected)
- Holiday (Shows all employees with a 'Holiday' status for the date you're viewing)
- Sickness (Shows all employees with a 'Sickness' status for the date you're viewing)
- Absence (Shows all employees with a 'Absence' status for the date you're viewing)
- Lateness (Shows all employees with a 'Late' status for the date you're viewing)
- Unauthorised Overtime (Shows all employees with any unauthorised overtime for that week)
- Exceptions (Shows any employees with a raised exception against a work record)
- Clocked (Shows any employee that has clocked in/out for that date)
Navigation Buttons
+ Add Employee
- This button will bring up the employee creation menu, where you can quick add a new employee.
Circular Arrows (Refresh)
- If you need to, this button will refresh the information displayed on screen - This may be required if you change the date and it does not immediately update the data reflecting that change.
Double & Single Left and Right Arrows
- The double left and right arrows will allow you to quickly navigate backwards (Left) or forwards (Right) a week.
- The single left and right arrows will allow you to quickly navigate backwards (Left) or forwards (Right) a day. However, as this displays a weeks worth of data, these may not be required.
Today
- This button once pressed, will bring you back to the current day.
Employee
- When Employee's name is clicked, their employee record will pop up.
- When you click on a row of the employee and not their name the "Clock In" and "Clock Out" will appear and so will the Weekly summary for that employee.
Clock IN & OUT
- These buttons will allow you to manually clock an employee in or out - These buttons require access assigned to your user. If these are not displayed, you may not have access to this functionality.
Employees
In the middle of the screen, you'll see the list of employees. This will show all employees that are assigned to the 'Tag' selected.
From here, you can also access the employee record by clicking on an employee's name. This will allow you to make any amendments and check other details specific to this employee.

Weekly Summary
When you click on an employee's row and not their employee name the Weekly Summary for that employee will pop-up and display
This area will show you a weeks worth of information for the selected employee. Here you'll be able to see an overview of almost everything that had happened for that employee within the current week (Or whatever date has been selected).
There are various colours which can mean different things - This reoccurs across Chronicle and are explained below:
- Dark Green - Contracted to work & Clocked IN
- Light Green - Contracted to work
- Red - Clocked IN Late
- Yellow - Holiday
- Light Blue - Sickness
- Purple - Absence
- Off White - Bank Holiday
- Dark Orange - Declined Holiday
- Light Orange - Requested Holiday
Within this section, you'll be able to see at a glance the Rostered Shift, Actual Shift, Start & End time, Hours Worked, Contracted Hours, Variance (Difference between Hours worked and contracted), Overtime, Any Status', Exceptions, Verified status, Total Hours, Total Contracted, Total Variance, Total Overtime & Flexitime Balance.

Search Functionality
You'll be able to use this function to search for a specific employee and employees on a specific activity or cost centre (Providing they've clocked this). You can also search Badge ID, Badge ID2 & Payroll Number.
