When creating a new break within a shift, you'll see 3 different options:
- Flexible
- Mandatory
- Contracted
Flexible breaks - Can be clocked anytime between the defined start and end times.
Mandatory breaks - Are used with the 'Default Start' and 'Default End' times, to insert a break when this has not been clocked. This will be inserted based off of the timings defined within default start/end.
Contracted - If ticked, the break time will count towards paid hours.
In the below example, it is defined that the 30 minute break is contracted (paid) and can be clocked anytime between 10:00 and 11:00. If the employee does not clock this break, the system will manually input a break between 10:00 and 10:30.
Please note: The 3 are not mutually exclusive and can be used together. For example, a flexible, mandatory break will allow an employee to clock their break at any time within the 'Start' and 'End' time, but the system will insert a break based on the 'Default Start & End' time if this is not clocked.
